At The Lafayette Life Insurance Company (“Lafayette Life”), we realize that the basis of any relationship is trust. As a result, we have put in place policies and practices that respect the privacy, not just of our customers, but of all individuals who use our company. We keep your personal information private. We may share information about you with:

  • as otherwise permitted by law.

We restrict access to data about you. Our employees are governed by a code of conduct. We train our employees on the importance of customer privacy and confidentiality. An employee who violates our privacy policies is subject to discipline.

Nonaffiliated Third Parties
Opt-Out

We will not share your information with third parties except as required by law. We have exercised your right to opt-out under the Privacy of Consumer Financial Information Act.

The basis of each customer relationship is built on trust. You have chosen to do business with us. We guard that relationship with great care. That is why we have opted out for you as a matter of corporate policy.

Lafayette Life’s Affiliates

We may share information with our affiliates to provide customer service. This enables us to serve you more efficiently. It also makes it more convenient for you to do business with us. We may share information we receive from you on applications or other forms. We may also share information we receive from a consumer reporting agency or other third party.

Service Providers or Joint Marketers

We may share your information with joint marketers or service providers. Both must protect your privacy. Joint marketers and service providers can only use your information to serve us or as required by law.

Former Customers

We do not share information about former customers with third parties unless permitted by law.

Our privacy commitment extends to our affiliates for 12 months from the date of our mailing of this notice to you. We will reaffirm this policy annually in writing, as long as you are a customer.

Upon written request, we will make information from your file available for your review. If you notify us that any information is incorrect, we will review it. If we agree, we will correct your records. If we do not agree, you may submit a short statement of dispute. This statement will be included in any future disclosure of information.

This notice is required by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley (“GLB”) Act. Any provision of this notice which may conflict with GLB, as amended, is hereby amended to conform to the minimum requirements of GLB. You can review our policy online at www.llic.com. If you have questions, please contact:

We will not disclose your information to third parties except as permitted by law. California law allows disclosure with your consent and to service your account.

 

Special Privacy Notice for “Opt-In” States (New Mexico, Oregon, North Dakota and Vermont).

  • We will not share your personal information with third parties.
  • We will disclose only your name, contact information, and information about your transactions and experiences with joint marketers.
  • We will only disclose to our affiliates information about our transactions and experiences with you.
