Our Marquis product line is designed to offer the opportunity to
participate in interest crediting based in part on the Standard and Poors
500 Composite Stock Index. These policies provide the possibility of a
greater interest crediting than fixed-interest crediting, while still
offering minimum guaranteed values and a minimum guaranteed interest
rate and the benefits associated with traditional insurance products.
The S&P 500 Index does not reflect dividends paid by the S&P 500
companies. The annuities are used primarily for long term cash
accumulation and retirement income, and the life insurance can provide a
substantial death benefit. There are two products in the Marquis
product line.
The Marquis Centennial Indexed Annuities - The Marquis Centennial 3, 5 & 7 are indexed annuities. They provide safety by guaranteeing a minimum surrender value. Each offers a company declared fixed interest rate and three index interest crediting alternatives each of which is linked, in part, to the S&P 500®. Regardless of the performance of the S&P 500®, the Marquis Centennial is guaranteed to provide a value no less than the guaranteed minimum surrender value, assuming no withdrawals.
The S&P 500® Index, which does not include dividends paid by the S&P 500® companies, is used only as a measure of performance to help determine any index interest. Your premiums are not invested in any of the equities that comprise the S&P 500®. Your surrender value, assuming you have made no withdrawals, will not be at risk to fall below the guaranteed minimum surrender value. This makes the Marquis Centennial 3, 5 & 7 sound funding vehicles for your long-term retirement income needs. The Marquis Centennial 3, 5 & 7 Indexed Annuities are fixed annuity contracts and do not represent an investment in the stock market. The Marquis Centennial 3, 5 & 7 are offered through Lafayette Life and are not FDIC insured. Lafayette Life stands behind the guarantees under the Marquis Centennial 3, 5 & 7 Indexed Annuities.
The Marquis Advant-Edge Indexed Annuities - The Marquis Advant-Edge 5 & 10 are indexed annuities. They guarantee safety of principal and pay a minimum rate of interest but also offer the potential for excess interest based in part on the performance of the S&P 500®. The S&P 500®, which does not include dividends paid by the S&P 500® companies, is used as an index of performance. Your premium is not invested in any of the equities that comprise the S&P 500® and you are not exposed to any market risk of loss. Instead, you will receive at least a guaranteed minimum rate of interest and your net premium, assuming you have made no withdrawals, will never be at risk. The Marquis Advant-Edge 5 & 10 indexed annuities are fixed annuity contracts and do not represent an investment in the stock market.

is free from federal income tax during the accumulation phase.
